Complaints or Problems with Flowers.
We stand by the quality of our flowers. But as we’re working with nature there will be inevitable occasions when one of our peonies or other flowers (or god forbid more than one) don’t behave as we expect. As we often ship or sell the peonies or flowers in bud form - it may be that the issue does not become apparent until you have the flowers home and they start to open in the vase, or when you’re working with them to prepare them for an event.
As a procedure to follow when you’re not happy with the quality of the flowers we have sold you, please take a photo of the status of the flower/flowers and get in touch with us immediately via our email address - flouerflowers@gmail.com (the photo is important, not only as general proof but so that we can identify what has happened to the flower and do our very best to avoid this occurring again - it may be that a certain variety has reacted badly to the weather conditions in that year, or the way that variety was conditioned etc did not suit them on this occasion. Or it may simply be that one flower had a bad day. But it’s important that we can identify and learn from the situation.)
It may be that we still have more of that same variety and can immediately offer you replacement stems (especially if you have an event). Alternatively if that variety has gone over or the entire variety is experiencing issues (this may happen in years when we’ve had extreme weather conditions) then we can offer you replacement flowers of a different variety.
We ask that you contact us immediately with even an inkling of a problem, or if you have a general question with regard to what is normal for the colour progression or scent etc for that variety (each variety is unique in this sense). And that way we can even wait to see how the flower progresses or put your mind at rest. Generally peonies sold to you in bud form - presuming they have been put in (and maintained in) water as soon as you receive them and been kept away from extreme heat or freezing conditions will last a minimum of 6 days in the vase, and often much longer. Especially if there are side buds then you can cut away the main flower when its petals drop and the sidebuds will continue to flower for you.
Please don’t be shy or embarrassed to reach out to us with a problem or concern as we absolutely believe our flowers are of the highest quality. And on the odd occasion when something goes wrong we are very happy, and keen, to make things right.
